Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. Her most well-known work is her leading role as deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson on the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received two Emmy Awards in the years 2010 and 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. The seventh season of the show concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989), Cameron Crowe's Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick is the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, an educator and family therapist, a venture capitalist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick VII Speech therapist. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was Episcopalian, of English descent. Sedgwick has declared herself Jewish and has said she participates in Passover seders.
