Jennifer Rene Psaki

Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who worked as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 to 2022. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served in the Obama administration as the White House deputy press secretary (2009) as well as the White House deputy communications director (2009-2011) as well as the spokesperson of the United States Department of State (2013-2015) as well as the White House communications director (2015-2017. Psaki was an CNN political commentator from 2017 through 2020. Psaki started her career in 2001 as an influential political contributor to CNN. She worked on elections for the re-elections of Tom Harkin (Iowa Democrats) for the U.S. Senate, and Tom Vilsack (Iowa Governor). Psaki then became the deputy press secretary of John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. Psaki also served as director of communications for Joseph Crowley (U.S.) as well as the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was back in the political arena in 2012, serving as the press secretary for President Obama's 2012 campaign. 20 years ago, Psaki became the spokesperson for United States Department of State. Her appointment at the Department of State fueled speculation that she would succeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney as he left for the White House,[21] but on May 30 in 2014 it was announced Josh Earnest would replace Carney. In 2015, she was recalled to the White House as communications director and was there until the end of the Obama administration.
